Our program
Yoga On Davidson’s Teacher Training will prepare teachers to teach Vinyasa style classes in studio, virtual, and private lesson formats. YOD’s style of vinyasa pulls elements from Baptiste and Ashtanga yoga. While 200 hours is not long enough to learn everything there is to know about yoga, this training gives graduates a well rounded basis to be able to successfully lead and teach vinyasa/power yoga.
Our program pulls local experts in the fields of Ashtanga, anatomy, Sanskrit, chakras and energetics, as well as philosophy and yogic lifestyle.
Our 200-hour training includes eight weekends of immersive study, with Friday evening sessions held virtually—except for the first and final weekends, which are fully in-person. That means 6 of the 8 Friday sessions are virtual, offering added flexibility while maintaining the connection and accountability of live instruction.
Trainees are expected to maintain a consistent personal yoga practice throughout the program. In addition to weekend sessions, each trainee will complete:
4 hours of practice teaching and assisting
Volunteer hours within the community or studio setting
A final retreat weekend, where each participant will lead a full 60-minute class as their capstone teaching project
To support real-world experience, trainees will also complete 4 additional hours of in-studio teaching and assisting, scheduled individually. This includes the opportunity to lead two full-length, 60-minute public classes at the studio.
Learn by doing. Each weekend, trainees will be guided through 60-minute classes in power, vinyasa, and/or deep stretch yoga to experience the practice from the inside out. In addition, trainees are expected to maintain a consistent personal practice—ideally at Yoga On Davidson, though practice at home or another studio 2–3 times per week is also acceptable.
Trainees are required to complete 2 hours of assisting and 2 hours of teaching outside of the scheduled training weekends. Additional practice teaching opportunities will be integrated throughout the training weekends to build confidence and reinforce teaching skills.
Our weekends together will be full of rich content and hands-on learning. To make the most of our time, Talei and Annie will also be available before and after their regularly scheduled classes, and via email or text to support continued learning and answer any questions as they arise.
What they have to say
The sense of community with in Yoga On Davidson and the relationships I made will forever be with me. I learned not only yoga but how to assist poses, build community and how to market myself . Yoga On Davidson is authentic and life changing.

My experience with Yoga On was phenomenal. The readings and work that was required for the training were valuable resources I could use in my day to day live off the mat. I made lifelong friends and have a firm foundation to build a life in a new city for myself and my daughter. Mentally and physically. Not only did it provide personal growth, I was given the knowledge and support to begin teaching even before training was over. I have been teaching for a month now and am delving in head first with new self-made opportunities. That type of confidence wouldn’t have come on it’s own. Yoga On, 10/10!

This was the perfect place to learn to teach yoga. Our very first weekend, we were instructing each other in sun salutations. By the time the training was over I had enough practice and constructive feedback to feel comfortable leading a class.

I highly recommend Yoga On Davidson teacher training. Annie Bolton, the head instructor, provided the tools necessary to prepare our class to teach upon completion of this training. You will be pushed out of your comfort zone but never beyond what you can handle. Annie is gifted at breaking things down into amounts that you can easily handle and also at teaching people how to teach. Feedback was always encouraging and factual. You will be exposed to many different aspects of yoga and get to be part of an amazing yoga community.

This training fully encourages you to be prepared to actively teach a Vinyassa and Power flow as well as providing a great introduction to other aspects of yoga such as Ashtanga and Sanskrit.
